Home Inspection Series: The Different Types

Doherty Home Inspections Blog

Regardless of whether you intend to make your new property purchase a forever home or fixer-upper, keeping the property in its best condition is usually a top priority. That’s why we always recommend getting a licensed home inspection to avoid any unforeseen and costly surprises. You will receive video documentation of the process so you can rest easy knowing we will handle the inspection process with care. Curious to know the different types of inspections we offer?

We can conduct pre-purchase residential inspections, pre-listing residential inspections, home maintenance inspections, new constructions inspections, and end of warranty inspections. This covers everything from New Construction builds to specialty builds loaded with crawl spaces and chimneys. We make sure you understand the major systems of the house you’re about to call home, including townhouses and condos. In the event you are then selling that same property, we can help with the pre-listing property inspection so you can have the condition assessed beforehand.

Maybe you’ve already settled into your new home and unpacked all those boxes. Have you passed your 11-month warranty? Most builders offer a one-year warranty on a new home and during the 11th month is when you should take full advantage of this warranty by discovering any issues that have developed during the year. Homes are built to be lived in and with that comes some wear and tear. So we highly recommend regular maintenance. With our maintenance inspections, we will include all the items in a regular inspection as well as check the roof, plumbing, electrical, foundation, attic, and building structure. It’s better to find and alleviate any minor issues before they become bigger problems down the road. No matter what inspection you need, you will receive video documentation of the process as well as a detailed report and review of our finding, emailed to you the very next day. Much of our practices exceed the NC Standards of Practice which means it takes us a little longer to inspect, but trust us – you don’t want the fastest inspector, you want the most thorough.
